Biography

Catherine joined Medway School of Pharmacy in 2007 as Clinical Lecturer in Pharmacy Practice. Whilst at MSOP, Catherine has focused on teaching and student support as a tutor, module convenor, programme lead for a foundation degree for pharmacy technicians, year lead, and latterly spent a year as Director of Admissions and Social Media. Immediately before joining MSOP Catherine combined two part-time roles: Project pharmacist for the National Patient Safety Agency looking at safer dispensing and safer use of medicines by patients; and Manager for the Kent and Medway Pharmacy Collaborative. This small NHS team monitored pharmacy compliance with the NHS pharmaceutical services contract requirements and clinical governance across the nine primary care trusts in Kent and Medway. From 1992 to 2005, Catherine worked on pharmacy policy at a national level: firstly at the Department of Health in Whitehall; then from 2001, she was Clinical Governance lead for the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain; and, in 2004-5, as the Project Officer for “Choosing Health Through Pharmacy”.
