Biography

Michael P. Robinson, PhD (University of Miami) is a marine biologist who studies animal behavior and evolution. Although focused primarily on marine fishes, Dr. Robinson studies other systems that answer questions relevant to his research. He has also worked on mosquitofish, sea urchins and caridean shrimp. Although he has a broad range of interests, Dr. Robinson's current research concentrates on the relationship between communication (particularly the role of honesty and acoustic communication) and cooperation. Dr. Robinson is also interested in the science of teaching science and is designing and researching techniques to enhance teaching and learning in science classrooms.
