Martin Engqvist leads the group for biochemistry and biochemical genomics. As an Assistant Professor at the department of Biology and Bioengineering he focuses on determining which enzymes support what biological processes. He aims to advance our ability to predict the function of untested enzymes. These activities are not only key to understanding basic biology, but also for improving our ability to provide humans with long disease-free lives and to engineer living organisms for a sustainable bio-based economy.
