Biography

Maria is a lecturer in Recreation and Sport and Nursing. She has a Master of Physical Education degree from the University of Otago.  Maria has experience working as a personal trainer and has been the fitness coach for the Dunedin Fencing Club and the Havelock North Women’s rugby team. She has research interests in nursing (missed care, skin screening) and the PATU gym.Maria currently teaches physical fitness assessment and landscapes in both the Diploma and Bachelor of Recreation and Sport, and also anatomy and physiology in the Bachelor of Nursing.
