Kaikai Liu joined SJSU as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Engineering in August 2015. His research interests include Mobile and Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS), Smart Sensing, Internet-of-Things (IoT), Software-Defined Computing and Networking. He has published over 15 peer-reviewed papers in journals and conference proceedings, 1 book, and holds 4 patents (licensed by three companies). He developed several prototype systems that can potentially improve and save people’s lives, for example, emergency communication system for smart city, Ultra-wideband communication and detection for search and rescue victims, indoor localization and navigation for the disabilities, human-computer interaction (HCI), mobile crowd sensing and social networking, cloud computing, scientific computing and big data.
