Lisa Bomble (Åhlström) studies participation in municipal (urban) planning processes. Her primary field of interest concerns communicating architecture and planning outside of the profession, with different stakeholders. This also encompasses her studies in public participation in our public spaces. The PhD studies have followed two different cases in municipalities in western Sweden: In Uddevalla (2009-2011) a method for participation through area analyses based on interviews was developed within an EU INTERREG project. This method development is presented for a licentiate degree in the report Area Analyses as Method for Participation (in Swedish). In the municipality of Lerum, the study was on an organizational level and the development of a local co-production group was the example observed. This study is organized as a transdisciplinary project within Mistra Urban Futures (link below).
