Biography

He holds a degree in Pharmacy from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1983), a Master's Degree in Biological Sciences (Biophysics) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1988), a PhD in Biological Sciences (Genetics) and postdoctoral studies (Molecular Mycobacterial Genetics) by the Pasteur Institute, France, (2000). She is a Principal Researcher at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, and has headed the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (2005-2007) and the Laboratory of Functional Genomics and Bioinformatics (2007-2012) of the IOC. Currently, he coordinates the Post-Graduate Program in Cellular and Molecular Biology of the Oswaldo Cruz Institute. Has experience in the field of Molecular Genetics, with emphasis on genomics and proteomics of mycobacteria and trypanosomatids.
