Professor Laura Schechter pursued her Ph.D.in Agricultural and Resource Economics, University of California in Berkeley, 2005 and her B.A., Development Studies, University of California, Berkeley in 1996 At present she is working as an Associate professor in department of Agriculture and applied economics, University of Wisconsin-Madison.Professor Laura Schechter is an international development economist, and her research lies at the intersection of development economics and behavioral economics. Most of her work uses experiments to help understand behavior in the context of trust and trustworthiness, and risk and vulnerability. She is especially interested in social networks in developing countries, and technology adoption.
