Laura Iozzelli joined the IES as a PhD Researcher in the Environment and Sustainable Development cluster in October 2015. Since July 2016, she is also a doctoral researcher at the Research Centre in Political Science of the Université Saint-Louis - Bruxelles. Her research project, conducted under the supervision of Prof. Sebastian Oberthür, focuses mainly on the legitimacy of transnational climate initiatives and on the role played by the EU within innovative transnational climate governance mechanisms. After earning a M.Sc. degree in International Relations from LUISS University, in 2014 she received a L.L.M. with honors in Environmental Law from La Sapienza University (Rome, Italy) with a focus on the effectiveness of non-compliance procedures established under international environmental agreements. Previously, she worked as an intern at the European Union Department of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as at a Publishing House in Rome.
