Biography

Assistant Professor in Comparative Education and the Secretary-Treasurer of the Comparative Education Society in Europe (CESE). His studies include an MA and a Ph.D. in Comparative Education (UCL Institute of Education, University College London). Before joining the University of Cyprus he worked at the UCL Institute of Education (UK), the Georg Eckert Institute for International Textbook Research (Germany) and the American University of Beirut (Lebanon). He also worked as visiting professor at the Collège de France in Paris and as a consultant for the World Bank and UNESCO.

Research Intrest

Global governance, European education policy, educational transfer, colonialism and neo-colonialism, the discursive construction of identities and subjectivites, education in the Mediterranean and Southeast Europe, textbook theory and research, history of education in colonial Cyprus.
