I have been a Neonatal nurse since completing my Bachelor of Nursing from Otago Polytechnic in New Zealand. I have worked as the Clinical Educator on my local Neonatal Intensive Care Unit responsible for education and development of all grades of staff and working as an expert nurse caring for sick and premature newborn babies. During this time I completed my Qualified in Speciality Modules in 2006, Clinical Supervision Module and Facilitating Learning in Professional Practice Module, all at level 6. I took up my post as Neonatal Lecturer in 2017, mostly co-running the Qualified in Specialty level 6 modules that serve up to 12 neonatal across the East of England network. I also support the midwifery undergraduate programme and the child branch nursing undergraduate programme, and postgraduate paediatric high dependency course. I have an unwavering passion for supporting the learning of students in order for them to deliver quality and holistic care of the neonate and their families.
