Biography

Kathy is a senior lecturer in the School of Nursing. She commenced her nursing education at Napier Hospital in 1972.Most of her clinical nursing experience took place in medical/surgical areas, until 1997 when she became a team leader at the Hawkes Bay Hospital. This role encompassed leading a team of registered nurses and care associates in a specialist surgical ward. Her areas of nursing practice were Otolaryngology and Ophthalmology.On commencement of her employment at EIT in 2004 she completed the National Certificate of Adult Education and Training and went on to complete a Masters Of Education. Her current research interests include the history of nursing and the experiences of nursing students in the clinical setting.
