Biography

Julien Zarifian is a Lecturer in American Civilization at the University of Cergy-Pontoise and a researcher at the Agora laboratory at this university. He holds a Doctorate in Geopolitics from the French Institute of Geopolitics, Paris 8 University. His doctoral thesis, supported in 2010, focused on US foreign policy in the South Caucasus (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia) since the fall of the USSR. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the American Political and Contemporary Armenian Studies journals . Since January 2013, he is responsible for Culture at the University of Cergy-Pontoise.

Research Intrest

European foreign policy in Eurasia (in particular US bilateral relations with Iran, Russia, Turkey and the Southern Caucasus states - Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia). - Political activism of ethno-racial groups in the United States. -Role of ethnic lobbies in the fabric of American foreign policy. -Geopolitics of the South Caucasus (in particular relations of the major regional and world powers with Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia).
