Biography

Jon Stadler earned his Ph.D. in algebraic combinatorics in 1997 from The Ohio State University. He arrived at Capital University in 1999 and has served as chair of the Department of Mathematics, Computer Science, and Physics for five years. Dr. Stadler has been very active in the Ohio Section of the Mathematical Association of America, serving as chair of the Program Committee, and currently serves as president of the section. His research interests remain in combinatorics and revolve around the mathematics of juggling and the relation between it and numerous other areas of mathematics. He is an expert in the mathematics of juggling, mathematics of the lottery, and recreational mathematics. Dr. Stadler is president of the Ohio Section of the Mathematical Association of America. He also received Friends of Education Award from the Westerville Education Association in 2011 for his work with mathematics in a fifth grade classroom.
