Research Intrest

My research focuses on how animals gather and use different kinds of information to make optimal (fitness-maximising) decisions in a social setting. Specific interests include: How animals recognise kin, and how kinship affects investment in cooperative and communal breeding systems Proximate and ultimate drivers of reproductive skew within animal societies Rival assessment during animal contests, including the evolution and function of status signals
