Professor Jonathan Chan is a clinical cardiologist with special interests in cardiac imaging (Echocardiography, cardiac CT, and cardiac MRI). He is the current Director of Echocardiography and Senior Partner Cardiologist at the Gold Coast Heart Centre located at the Gold Coast Private Hospital, Pindara Hospital, and John Flynn Hospital. He has been appointed as senior consultant physician at The Prince Charles Hospital and Gold Coast University Hospital. Professor Chan is a First Class Honours medical graduate of the University of Queensland and undertook an advanced cardiac imaging fellowship at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Centre at Harvard Medical School in the United States. Professor Chan has been awarded a PhD in Medicine and his research is focused on myocardial strain imaging using speckle tracking echocardiography.
