Biography

Dr. Johan Christenson, M.D., Ph.D., is a Partner of HealthCap. Prior to joining HealthCap in 2001, Dr. Christenson was with SEB Företagsinvest to supervise its health care portfolio. He served as the Head of Investments at SEB Venture Capital. Dr. Christenson has senior management experience from Astra Pain Control and AstraZeneca AB as a Project Director and AstraZeneca PLC as a Global Product Director and Member of the Pain Control therapy area management team of Pain and Inflammation. Dr. Christenson served as an Assistant Dean at the Karolinska Institute Graduate school for two years and served as a Lecturer in Neuroscience. He served as the Chairman of Glionova AB until June 1, 2015. He served as Deputy Chairman of Nexstim Plc from March 31, 2015 to December 22, 2015. He served as a Deputy Chairman of the Board at Nexstim Plc since April 3, 2016 until March 29, 2017. He serves as a Director of Vivet Therapeutics. He serves as a Director of NeuroNova AB. He has been a Director at BeneChill, Inc. since July 2009. He serves as Director of Fusion Pharmaceuticals Inc. and Oncos Therapeutics Ltd. He has been on the Board of Glionova Therapeutics since November 12, 2014 and serves on the boards of Diabact and TopoTarget (Prolifix Ltd.). He has been a Director of Medtronic CoreValve LLC since July 11, 2005; Targovax ASA since July 2015 and Aprea AB since March 9, 2016. He has been a Director of Oncopeptides AB since 2012. He served as Director of Cerenis Therapeutics Holding SA until June 2015 and Nexstim Plc since 2007 until March 29, 2017. He served as Director of Glionova AB since November 12, 2014 until June 1, 2015. He served as Director of Arexis AB and Neuro3d S.A. He served as Director of TopoTarget A/S from 2002 to April 6, 2006. He served as Director of Resistentia Pharmaceuticals AB since 2005 and Orexo AB (publ) since 2002. He is the author of 17 scientific articles. He also has four years of clinical specialist training in Pediatrics and Pediatric Neurology. Dr. Christenson received his medical training at the Karolinska Institute and published his thesis in 1991. Dr. Christenson received his PhD in Basic Neuroscience from the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm in 1991.
