Joana Cardoso Fontes is Assistant Professor at Catolica Lisbon School of Business & Economics and a Visiting Researcher at Lancaster University. She holds a Ph.D. in Accounting and Finance and a M.Res. in Accounting and Financial Management (with distinction) from Lancaster University, a M.B.A. (with distinction) from Porto Business School and a B.A. ("Licenciatura") in Business Management from the Portuguese Catholic University. Her research interests include capital market’s use of accounting information, bank accounting and fair value accounting. Her work has been submitted to top academic journals such as The Accounting Review and has been presented at international leading conferences (EAA, BAFA). She has worked as an Auditor for PricewaterhouseCoopers and as a Financial Controller for Sonaecom. She has taught several Accounting subjects such as Financial Accounting, Corporate Governance, Bank Accounting and Financial Analysis.
