Biography

Jeff Perlman began his Ayurveda and Yoga journey in 1998, but his late brother, Michael, a devoted yogi since the 1970's planted the seed. Although he was not ready or open-minded at that time he was always intrigued and impressed by the balance yoga seemed to bring to his life. After many years logging countless hours as an executive chef in hotels and restaurants around the world, he realized my life lacked boundaries and a spiritual compass. When he was injured running the New York Marathon, he knew the time had come to shift my focus inward. He came to yoga with many physical challenges, his body was so tight and inflexible that I could not touch my toes. He also had been visiting the chiropractor weekly because of cervical and thoracic pain, and since He started practicing yoga regulary He found new strength and mobility without doctors help. After practicing yoga for a few years he enrolled in the Iyengar teacher-training program, and have been teaching since 2005. While studying anatomy hewas introduced to Ayurveda and as a professional chef, he was intrigued by the holistic relationship of the energies in our universe that connect our surroundings, our bodies and the foods, spices, herbs and beverages we all consume
