Previously, he was the Associate Dean for Academics, Marketing, and Outreach in the College of Engineering and Computer Science and a Professor of Mechanical Engineering in the Department of Mechanical, Materials, and Aerospace Engineering (MMAE) at the University of Central Florida (UCF)
