Dr Jaideep Dhariwal is a Clinical Research Fellow within the Airway Disease Infection group at the National Heart & Lung Institute, Imperial College London. Jaideep graduated from Imperial College School of Medicine in 2006. He intercalated with a BSc in Haematology (2004) for which he was awarded first class honours and the Steadman and Freda-Becker awards for best Haematology Bsc and overall BSc performance. In 2011 he was appointed to the post of Academic Clinical Fellow in Respiratory Medicine at Imperial College. He spent his first year as a Respiratory SpR at Charing Cross, St. Mary’s and the Hammersmith Hospitals. Jaideep is currently the clinical research fellow working on the MRC/GSK Strategic Alliance – a ~£6M venture investigating the mechanisms of interplay between allergy and viruses in asthma. As part of this he is undertaking a PhD looking at mechanisms of virus-induced asthma exacerbations, working under the supervision of Professor Sebastian Johnston.
