Biography

I have a masters and PhD in Microbiology from India and part of my PhD research was carried out at Texas A & M University, Dept of Chemical Engineering under Prof Mark Holzapple. The research was a part of the paper winning Green Chemistry Challenge Award in 1996. I also worked as a microbiologist for 14 years in a pharmaceutical company in India in the area of New drug research and fermentation. I did five years of postdoctoral research in the US at three universities in Environmental microbiology from 2001- 2005. I also was involved in helping review papers for the Journal of Bacteriology during my post doc years. I have been working in the area of cosmetics since last 10 years as a QA/QC director and have kept my interest alive testing natural products for their antimicrobial activity apart from my other obligations as a QA/QC director solving problems at production units as a microbiologist.
