Secretary General of the Association of the Schools of Political Studies since July 2008, Jack Hanning was educated at Malvern and Oxford and is fluent in four languages. He has devoted all his working life to Europe, first in education, translation and journalism, and then as a senior official. At the Council of Europe, he was head of the Communication Department before becoming the Organisation’s Director of External Relations. He has taught at Strasbourg University and at the University of Syracuse. He is now the Representative of the European Movement International in Strasbourg and a consultant in international relations.
