Isabel has a PhD in Chemical Engineering and Post-Doc in Metabolic Engineering and Systems Biology at the Technical University of Denmark and spent one semester at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston, USA. Her international collaborations include an appointment with the Brazilian Bioethanol Science and Technology Center. She is Principal Investigator and Assistant Professor at the Biological Engineering Department, at University of Minho, Portugal. She is also a member of the board of the PhD program in MIT-Portugal’s Bioengineering initiative. She is the PI of several projects, with more than 60 papers published in international journals and books.
