Biography

Hiruy Wubie is Lecturer and Director of the Legal Aid Center within the School of Law. He obtained his LL.B in 2006 and his LL.M in Human Rights Law in 2010 from Addis Ababa University. He joined University of Gondar, School of Law in 2006 where he served as Moot-Court Coordinator and Assistant Registrar of the Law School before starting his LL.M on a study leave in March 2008. Upon his return from study leave, he was appointed as the Director of the Legal Aid Center. He also has a private advocacy license to represent clients in court. Ato Hiruy recently chaired a committee of experts to prepare the constitutive documents for the upcoming Ethiopian network of legal aid centers, receiving recognition from the Chief Commissioner of the Ethiopian Human Rights Commission which sponsored the preparation of the documents.
