Mr. Smith has more than 25 years of business management experience having held various leadership positions at Dow Chemical, IBM, HP/EDS, and Ernst & Young. As an entrepreneur, Mr. has founded, co-founded and built two highly successful technology companies and is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer of G2SF, INC., an information technology consulting company he founded in 2008. As a certified ITIL® (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) Expert, Mr. Smith is globally recognized as a subject matter expert in information technology service management (ITSM) which focuses on the application of industry accepted management best practices used to properly align technology related services with an organization’s business strategy. This alignment helps to ensure the achievement of business goals and objectives. In addition to expertise in IT service management, Mr. Smith’s areas of specialty also include strategic planning, business/IT process improvement, organizational and cultural transformation, and entrepreneurship related to new business start up. Mr. Smith has been a guest speaker and panelist at numerous industry events and is the Chairman of the Government Service Management Institute that fosters the successful institutionalization of ITSM best practices within Government. Mr. Smith maintains affiliations with the Potomac Officers Club, the CXO Forum, national and local chapters of the IT Service Management Forum (itSMF), Northern Virginia Technology Council, and AFCEA International (Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association). Mr. Smith earned Bachelor Degrees in both Business Management and Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Master of Science Degree in Industrial / Organizational Psychology from Lamar University.
