Biography

Giora Weisz, M.D., is assistant professor in clinical medicine at the Columbia University, and Director of Clinical Research of the Center for Interventional Vascular Therapy at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, Columbia University Medical Center. Dr. Weisz graduated the Hebrew University-Hadassah Medical School in Jerusalem, Israel. He received his residency training in internal medicine and cardiology fellowship training at the Carmel Medical Center in Haifa, Israel. Dr. Weisz completed his training in interventional cardiology at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York. As a practicing interventional cardiologist, Dr. Weisz has particular interest in current and innovative technologies in interventional cardiology, such as percutaneous coronary interventions, drug-eluting stents, novel strategies for prevention of contrast-induced nephropathy, embolic protection, robotics, and endovascular interventional treatment of carotid stenosis and peripheral vascular disease. Dr. Weisz also has been involved in the treatment of patients with no option for revascularization, and clinical research in angiogenesis treatment.
