Dr. Salekdeh’s research work focuses on proteome and molecular systems biology. He is a council member of the Asia Oceania Human Proteome Organization (AOHUPO) and member of HUPO education committee. He is Director of the Human Y Chromosome Proteome Project (an official project of HUPO) and Chair of AOHUPO Embryonic Stem Cell (ESC) Membrane Proteome Initiative (AOHUPO ESC-MPI). On a national level, Dr. Salekdeh is a cofounder of the Iranian Proteomics Society and President-elect of this society since 2004. He is also the Head of the Molecular Systems Biology Department at Royan Institute. He is on a number of editorial boards, including the Proteomics Journal. He has received several awards and honors including, the National Biotechnology Award (2007), National Razi Medical Science Award for Advanced Technologies (2009), the Khwarizmi International Award for Fundamental Research (2010) and Hadavi award from the Iranian Academy of Medical Sciences (2010). He has published over 50 peer-reviewed international papers and has written a text book on Molecular Markers.
