Biography

Dr. Weiner is an Associate Professor Of Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine as well as a member of the Liver Research Center at the AECOM. He received his MD from Mt Sinai School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington Vermont and his fellowship in Gastroenterology and Liver Disease at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He has also been involved in the study of the development of cirrhosis at the Liver Research Center. Dr. Weiner is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He is member of the AASLD, AGA, ACGE and a Fellow of the ACG. While seeing patients with a full range of gastrointestinal problems, he has a particular interest in liver disease and in particular, chronic viral hepatitis. He has been part of studies that have tested new therapies for Chronic Hepatitis C as well as the mechanisms responsible for side effects associated with therapy for hepatitis C. He is both well acquainted and utilizes the new therapies for hepatitis C and B. He is affiliated with the Montefiore Medical Center and Lawrence Hospital Center.
