He has a degree in Agronomy from the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (1990), a Master's degree in Microbiology from the State University of Londrina (1995) and a PhD in Agronomy (Plant Protection) from Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2003). He is currently a full-time professor (40h) working in 4 undergraduate courses (Agronomy, Biology, Environmental Engineering and Sugarcane Technology) and is also coordinator of the postgraduate program in Agronomy (Master and Doctorate) at Universidade do Oeste Paulista. Ad hoc advisor of Summa Phytopathologica, Ceres Journal, Acta Scientiarum, Brazilian Seed Journal, PAB and EMBRAPA. He has experience in Agronomy, with emphasis in Agricultural Microbiology, working mainly in the following lines: agroindustrial residues, environmental microbiology,
