Biography

Elin Esbjörner Winters is Assistant Professor of Biophysical Chemistry and Biochemistry. Her research focuses on understanding how protein misfolding and protein self-assembly contribute to the pathology of neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease. Her group uses tools of biophysics and biochemistry in combination with live cell imaging, cell- and molecular biology to study the formation of amyloid fibrils and neurotoxic protein aggregates in vitro and in cellular models of human disease. Elin is Young Faculty Representative within the Area of Advance Lifescience Engineering.
