Biography

Dr. Schertzer is working as Associate Professor of Biological Sciences at Binghamton University. Dr. Schertzer received his Ph.D. from McMaster University in Ontario, Canada where he studied Gram-positive bacterial cell wall biosynthesis in search of novel targets for antibiotic therapy. He then switched to studying Gram -negative organisms during his postdoctoral training at the University of Texas at Austin.

Research Intrest

Formation of bacterial Outer Membrane Vesicles and their roles in cell-cell communication, virulence and biofilm maturation.
