Biography

My professional career as a registered nurse and later as a midwife began several years ago in South Africa where I worked across a wide range of clinical areas in senior nursing roles.  After immigrating to New Zealand in 1990 with my family, I enjoyed 17 years as clinical nurse educator at a paediatric hospital in South Auckland. During that time I completed a post graduate studies specialising Child and Family Health, and later graduated with Masters in Health Science. In 2007 I left New Zealand for Saudi Arabia where I spent four interesting years in nursing education. I have been employed at Eastern Institute of Technology, Tairawhiti  since March 2012. I am passionate about nursing education and the professional development of nurses.
