Dr. Don Ator is currently working as a Research Associate and Undergraduate Advisor in the Department of Agriculture Economics and Agribusiness at Louisiana State University. Mr. Ator’s responsibilities include research, extension, and outreach, undergraduate advising, and teaching. His current research is in Financial Resiliency Planning for local governments in Louisiana, Texas, Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, and Nebraska. This work involves managing a team of research assistants to collect Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports of local government finances and coding data from the Statements of Net Assets, Changes in Capital Assets, Statements of Net Activities, and Combined Balance Sheets into excel documents stored on a SharePoint site for analysis and research.
My research is focused on Financial Resiliency Planning for local governments.
