Biography

Dr. Diofantos G. Hadjimitsis is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering & Geomatics. Diofantos joined the Cyprus University of Technology in June of 2007 at the rank of the Assistant Professor (as the fisrt appointed staff of the Department of Civil Engineering and Geomatics). Diofantos was responsible for developing the undergraduate syllabi for both Civil Eng. and Geomatics courses (with the closed collaboration of the advisory committee) as well for the development of the existing laboratories. He undertook his PhD and MPhil (1996-1999) in the field of Satellite Remote Sensing intended for environmental applications (water quality surveillance and air pollution monitoring) from the University of Surrey, Department of Civil Engineering (UK).

Research Intrest

Satellite remote sensing and GIS for civil and environmental engineering applications, construction management, pavements and materials for highway construction, geodesy applications etc.
