Biography

After working for 20 years in various clinical positions in Tairawhiti Debs, her husband and three children moved to Hawkes Bay in 2010. She completed her Masters Degree in Nursing 2014 whilst working as a practice nurse and family violence intervention coordinator in primary care. In 2015 Debs was awarded the Hawkes Bay Director of Nursing Excellence in Post Graduate Study award and the Hawkes Bay Director of Nursing Hero of the year award. In addition to that the family violence work was recognised in two categories at the Asia Pacific Ko Awatea International Excellence in Health Improvement Awards 2015. Debs joined the EIT team as a nursing lecturer March 2017 and is currently studying toward an adult teaching qualification. In addition to this she sits on the Hawkes Bay Clinical Council and is the Clinical Council representative on the Hawkes Bay Consumer Council.
