"Deborah Dodge’s professional career has been in the specialty of nursing. During her undergraduate years she pursued an interest in military nursing enrolling in the ROTC program. Shortly after graduation, she was commissioned as a U.S. Army 2nd Lieutenant and served an active duty tour at Ft. Polk, LA as a maternal-newborn nurse. After completing her initial obligation, she remained in the 399th Combat Support Hospital for 20 years as a field nurse, clinical instructor, and administrator. She retired as a Lt. Colonel in 1999. In the civilian world, she has held nursing positions in maternal-newborn, neonatal ICU, community-health, administration and nursing education. She has been a nursing professor for ten years, teaching at Fitchburg State College and Rivier. Her teaching positions have included maternal-newborn nursing, pediatric nursing, medical-surgical nursing, and clinical psychiatric nursing. She resides in Amherst, NH with her husband and children. She enjoys activities with her children, gardening, and reading."
