David joined USP in 2015 From the Law Council of Australia where he worked for 8 years, as a Senior Policy Lawyer and in other roles within the International Division. His work there included preparing policy briefs and submissions on international issues relevant to the Australian legal profession and coordinating the development and delivery of the Law Council’s International Strategy. From 2008-2014, David was also the Administrator of the South Pacific Lawyers’ Association, the peak body for the legal profession in the region. David holds an LLM from the University of Sydney and won the Law Press Asia Prize for Chinese Legal Studies No. 2. The focus of his LLM was on liberalisation of legal services markets in India and comparative law in Indonesia, Malaysia and China. He has recently commenced his PhD at RegNet at the Australian National University which will focus on regulation of the legal profession in the South Pacific region.
