David Jackson is a Consultant Respiratory Physician at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Trust and leads the severe asthma unit there. This service provides tertiary level care for patients across South London, Kent and East Sussex. He also runs an adolescent asthma clinic with paediatric colleagues at Great Ormond Street Hospital and is an honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer within the National Heart and Lung Institute. He graduated from UCL Medical School in 2001 and trained in Respiratory medicine at the Royal Brompton, St Mary's and Hammersmith hospitals before completing his specialisation in 2013. In addition to his medical degree he has a BSc in physiology, an MSc in Allergy and a PhD in the pathophysiology of asthma exacerbations from Imperial College. His ongoing research interests are funded through the MRC and relate to the mechanisms of virus-induced asthma exacerbations.
