He is editor of the J. of Forensic Accounting from 1999 and then created the J. of Forensic & Investigative Accounting. I was chair of AAA's Teaching & Curriculum section (3rd largest), and I established the AAA's section Forensic and Investigating Accounting and was its first president. Author of the successful Forensic and Investigative Accounting textbook (5th edition). Larry Crumbley is on the faculty of Louisiana State University where he teaches a fraud & forensic accounting course and taxation courses. He received his MS and PhD degrees from LSU. Professor Crumbley is the author of more than 55 books, including Forensic and Investigative Accounting, 5rd Edition, with Commerce Clearing House. He created in 1999 and was the editor of the Journal of Forensic Accounting until he created the J. of Forensic & Investigative Accounting , and he has been the editor of the Oil, Gas & Energy Quarterly for more than 36 years. He has 13 educational novels, some with the main character of a forensic accountant or internal auditor. His novel, The Big R: A Forensic Accounting Action Adventure, stars an internal auditor of the New York Yankees. He received the LCPA Lifetime Achievement in Accounting Education Award in 2007. A frequent speaker in the U.S. and internationally on forensic accounting and litigation services and Petroleum Accounting, he was the speaker of the 66th Annual Research Lecture, University of Melbourne, Australia in 2005, and he was an Erskine Fellow at the University of Canterbury (N.Z.) in 2007. He was the chair of the Teaching and Curriculum section of the American Accounting Association, and the founder of the American Taxation Association.
