1. My main field of research specialization is on cancer symptom management, psychosocial care, and palliative care. As ‘symptom cluster’ has been acknowledged to be at the cutting edge science in symptom management, my study on the identification and management of ‘symptom cluster’ in patients with lung cancer are novel and significant. 2. Other areas of my research interests in symptom management include the treatment of oral mucositis, breathlessness, fatigue, nausea and vomiting. 3. Areas of psychosocial care include sexuality, stress and anxiety, quality of life, cancer rehabilitation, social support, and bereavement care. 4. My palliative care research focuses on the promotion of advance care planning and advance directive, and targets on cancer patients, elderly and the general public. 5. Grants record: I have obtained a total of 13 competitive grants in the last 10 years and 8 of them are related to cancer research. Besides cancer research, I am also interested in teaching and learning development research such as exploring web-enriched resource and positive clinical learning environment. 6. Research supervision: I have been supervising a total of 10 doctoral students and 13 master students (all graduated) in a variety of research areas. 7. Research leadership: as a convener of the Cancer and palliative Research Group of the Nethersole School of Nursing in Hong Kong, I play an active role in the development and delivery of cancer and palliative nursing research and education within Hong Kong and Asia. Collaboration work with the Acute Care Research Group and long Term Care Research Group are in place. 8.
