Ato Andualem has served as the Head of Internal Audit Office since January 2009. He holds a BA in Accounting from Asmara University. Prior to his appointment as Head of Internal Audit Office, Ato Andualem served as Finance Manager within the University of Gondar. In accordance to the Ethiopian Democratic Republic Ministry of Finance and Economic Development Directive 7, 2003 article 20 sub article 2 and article 6 sub article 2, Ato Andualem heads the Internal Audit Office at the University of Gondar. Reporting to the President and working in line with Government guidelines, the Internal Audit Office is tasked with evaluating the adequacy of the University’s internal control structures; assessing the compliance of different sections with applicable policies, laws and regulations; verifying the existence and the proper safeguarding of assets; and providing assurance that risks are mitigated and the University’s corporate governance is strong and effective.
