Anna Garcia Puig obtained her bachelor’s degree in Human Biology from the University Pompeu Fabra (UPF), Barcelona, in 2012. During this period she worked in different research groups: the Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition and Tumor Progression group at the Hospital del Mar Medical Research Institute (IMIM), led by Dr. Antonio García de Herreros (Barcelona); the Dr. James G. Martin group at Meakins-Christie Laboratories (Montreal, Canada); and the Control Stem Cell Potency group at the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC), led by Dr. Ángel Raya (Barcelona). She continued her studies and obtained a Master in Pharmaceutical and Biotechnological Industry from UPF in 2013. During her master’s internship she established and characterized a labelling protocol for neural stem cells at the Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology IZI, Leipzig, Germany. Currently, Anna is working on her Biomedicine PhD project focused on the heart regeneration process in zebrafish, which she started at the IBEC in 2013. In July 2015, she moved to the CMR[B], to continue her project under the direction of Dr. Angel Raya.
