Biography

Dr. Alaeldin Maghaireh is an Assistant Professor and the Chairman of the Law Department. Before joining PMU Dr. Maghaireh was a lecturer for eight years in Law at the Centre for Transnational Crime Prevention (CTCP) Australia. He taught Criminal Law and Process, Comparative Criminal Law, Cybercrime and Understanding Transnational Organized Crime. He supervised major research projects for Law Faculty/ Wollongong University and coordinated Master of Transnational Crime Prevention Tutorial Teaching Program (2010-2012). He is an expert in cyber criminology and Islamic Criminal Law with considerable experience in the First Instance Court in Jordan (1996-1998). His doctoral research, completed in 2009 at Wollongong University/Australia, was on Cybercrime Investigation: A Comparative Analysis of Search for and Seizure of Digital Evidence.

Research Intrest

Cyber criminology, Criminal Law and Process, Islamic Criminal Law/ Shariah Law/Common and Civil Law and Organized Crime (Comparative Law), Money laundering, Drug and human trafficking and migrant smuggling.
