Biography

I am a Registered Nurse with a wide range of experience in both primary and secondary care settings. I started my career as an operating department nurse, where prevention of infection is a key aspect of care. Over time my interest in this aspect of care grew and I became a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Infection Prevention and Control in 1999. Since then I have had a varied career as a CNS, then a matron in acute, community and pre hospital care settings. I took up my position as Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing at the University of Bedfordshire in 2013 and enjoy teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level. In March 2017 I took up the role of course co-ordinator for the MSc Adult Nursing with registration programme. I am currently studying for my Professional Doctorate in Health and my research study relates to student nurses’ perspectives of raising concerns I am a Registered Nurse with a wide range of experience in both primary and secondary care settings.
