Biography

Graduated in Biological Sciences - Bachelor in Genetics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1993) and PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (2001). He completed postdoctoral studies at the "Program in Human Molecular Biology and Genetics" in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, with financial support from the Pew Latin American Fellows Program in the Biomedical Sciences (2001-2003). Since 2006 she has been a Researcher at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation. He has experience in the field of Pharmacology, with emphasis in Biochemical and Molecular Pharmacology, involving the study of cellular and molecular mechanisms involved in the development of inflammatory reactions such as atherosclerosis and infectious polymicrobial, emphasizing the role of PAF and similar compounds, oxidized LDL, LPS, The nuclear receptor PPAR gamma and intracellular signaling proteins.
