Biography

He holds a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1989), a master's degree (1993) and a doctorate (1997) in Biological Sciences (Biophysics) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1993). Producer of the CNPq, level 2. Researcher at the Oswaldo Cruz Institute / Oswaldo Cruz Foundation and head of the Laboratory of Biotechnology and Physiology of Viral Infections. Has experience in the area of ​​Molecular Biology, Immunology, Microbiology and Virology. Currently he is mainly engaged in the following areas of study: Development of DNA vaccines against dengue or zika viruses; Evaluation of the role of different proteins of the dengue virus in the infection and pathology of the disease; Establishment of murine models for the study of dengue and zika.
