Biography

Dr Abdurrahman Ouban is an Associate Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine in the College of Medicine, Alfaisal University. He is a U.S. and Canadian trained pathologist with 7 years teaching experience in Canada, the Netherlands and Saudi Arabia. He graduated with an MD degree from Tishreen University in Lattakia, Syria and has a Masters of Public Health and Epidemiology from the College of Public Health at the University of South Florida-Tampa, USA. He completed his anatomic and clinical pathology residency training at the University of South Florida hospitals in Tampa, Florida, USA, and followed that with a Fellowship in Molecular Oncological Surgical Pathology at the University of Toronto in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Dr Abdurrahman has taught general as well as systemic pathology courses for the past 7 years. He also has long experience in teaching the USMLE Step1 course. His primary research interests include cancer epidemiology and biomarkers' discovery. Currently he is planning to design platforms to investigate the applications of molecular medicine in pharmaco-epidemiology and tailored therapies.
